hey, I’m AJ (or Alyssa depending on where you’re coming from), and if you’re here, you probably found me through a K-pop rabbit hole, a Seoul travel search, or maybe just a very specific corner of the internet. either way, welcome. pull up a chair.
i’m a girl from North Carolina who spent an ungodly amount of time consuming Korean music, culture, and media from across the world, until one spring break trip to Seoul during junior year changed everything. i walked through Gangnam, felt the city, and thought: i need to come back here.
so that’s what i’m doing. on August 25, 2026 i’m packing up and moving to Seoul to study Strategic Communications and International Studies at Ewha Womans University.
AJ’s Iyagi Pages is where i will document all of it, the prep, the journey, the music, the culture, school life, travel, moments that are hard to explain but feel important to write down. iyagi (이야기) means “story” in Korean, and that’s exactly what this is. my story, completely unfiltered, one page at a time.
i’ll write about K-pop and Korean culture because it genuinely shaped who I am now. i’ll write about studying abroad because someone out there is dreaming about doing the same thing. i’ll write about figuring life out because honestly, aren’t we all?
this blog isn’t about having everything together. it’s about what happens when you take the leap anyway.
